“Amphibian” Arts Margaret River

Described as poignant, powerful and humorous, the play “Amphibian, is based on real-life testimonies of refugees.
showing at Margaret River Heart, 7pm Tuesday 14th September.

Also, on Wednesday 8th September, Arts Margaret River is screening “Follow Me Home” a filmed live theatre performance. Young Sydney actors take to the stage in this show, inspired by real life stories of young homeless people.

It’s a fast-paced “must-see” for audiences aged over 14.
Before the screening you’ll hear stories from locals who
have experienced homelessness. Bookings for both shows through Arts Margaret River.

Community Home Care

Now that Community Home Care have extended their services in this region, they are calling for volunteer drivers. This will range from driving clients attending medical appointments, to delivering meals-on-wheels. If you can offer an hour or two to help, please get in touch.

Council Elections

These are the last few days of opportunity to throw in your hat for local Council elections! There are four vacant seats this year and you could fill one of them. Lodge your nomination with the Returning Officer by 4pm Thursday 9th September.

Youth Scholarships

There are two exciting Youth Scholarships being offered from the Strings Attached Festival. They’re both for young locals, one a guitarist and one for someone who is interested or currently working in the arts. Winners will receive a professional mentoring session and a Weekend Pass for the Festival. Entries close 5pm Friday 17th September.

CANsurvive Cancer Support Group

CANsurvive is not your ‘average’ cancer group! They share a close bond and laugh a lot together. The Support Group meets on the second Thursday of every month from 1-3pm @ The Men’s Shed, Busselton, with the next on 9th September.

They offer unconditional, non-judgemental love & support in the face of hardship. It’s for anyone diagnosed with any type of cancer, at any age. Also providing a confidential safe space to exchange information, discover new ways of coping & encounter the support & inspiration of others.
