Margaret River Historical Society

Ever been down to our local museum by the river? The Historical Society is a great community group working Not For Profit and they maintain a fascinating Group House & School Building at the Old Settlement. They are desperate for volunteers to keep the museum doors open to visitors for just two & half hours a session. Or, give them help when a primary school class is visiting.

The museum exhibits have been carefully restored by volunteers, but sometimes they need a little repair, like the wind-up gramophone that usually plays old 78 records! If anyone is a dab hand at a spot of old-fashioned engineering and can repair it, you will make them very happy.

Contact: Shelley Wightman on 0439 508 844
Email: shelley@wightmanbuilding.com.au
Or visit when open on Tuesdays 10-12:30,
Thursdays 1:30 – 4pm, & Saturday & Sundays 10 – 3pm.

Mirrambeena Residential Care

Can you talk about sport at the drop of a hat? Can you drop in to chat to a resident of Mirrambeena for half an hour? The men in care are desperately in need of some male companionship for short periods at the residential home. You might have another hobby like chess, or want to discuss the newspapers. Sharing is Caring and it makes a big difference to a long day. There is an information session with morning tea at the Margaret River Community Centre, main meeting room, 33 Tunbridge St, at 10am on Tuesday 1st June.

Contact: Anni Kamppi on 9758 9600
Babtistcare Mirrambeena Residential Care, 12 Farrelly Street, Margaret River.
