Over 140 artists will open their doors from this weekend as the eighth annual Margaret River Open Studios gets underway. Pick up a free event guide and plan your next two weeks to soak up all the amazing artistic talent on display.

A new exhibition by artist Shaye Hadley is now showing at The Heart until 4th October. Titled Twenty Twenty One, this very personal exhibition explores things and spaces significant to the artist’s identity. Entry is free of charge and the exhibition is open daily from 10am.

DANCE

Tickets are now on sale for Boogie Down South, two nights of social dancing, music education and classic swing dance movies. Hosted by South West Swing, it’s all happening over the upcoming long weekend from 24th September in Cowaramup. You can purchase tickets to individual events or buy a full weekend pass.

EVENTS

Bettenays Wines and the Margaret River Nougat Company have definitely caught Spring Fever. They’re hosting an afternoon of good wine, great music and fabulous food this Sunday from 12.30pm. Hooked Up Fish & Chips will be there and Kevin Doran will be playing some rocking tunes to welcome the spring sunshine.

And up in Vasse, unique venue, The Quill, is hosting another of their intimate music gatherings this Saturday. WA musicians Tracey Barnett and Ricky Green will perform a mix of blues, indie and folk music while sharing their incredible stories. Tickets are $32 and delicious food and wine is available to purchase.

MOVIES

And this Friday, it’s movie night again at The Heart. This week you’ll be dancing in your seat as you’re treated to the sounds of legendary singer, Aretha Franklin in the film Respect. It tells the remarkable true story of her career, from singing in the local church choir to fame, fortune and international superstardom. Tickets are $15 for adults and available now.
