Cinefest Oz, Western Australia’s premier film festival returns to our screens next week with an incredible line-up of feature films screening across the region from Augusta to Bunbury. Grab yourself a Cinepass to fully immersive yourself in the program or purchase tickets to individual screenings, premier events and filmmaker discussions across the 6-day festival.
The Margaret River Heart will host the world premier of Facing Monsters on Tuesday 24th August as part of the Cinefest Oz opening night. This captivating documentary follows big wave surfer Kerby Brown as he takes on some of the most dangerous waves off the Western Australian coast – and, it brings a touch of red carpet magic to Margaret River.

Legendary surf photographer Russell Ord is exhibiting a new series of photos titled ‘Rough Seas’ to coincide with the Cinefest Oz festival. The exhibition officially opens at The Heart on Wednesday 25th August and will be open daily until the 6th of September.

And, if you’re looking for something a bit special this weekend, head to Bettenays Wines and Margaret River Nougat Company on Sunday afternoon – just 5 minutes from Cowaramup on Tom Cullity Drive.
From 1pm until 5pm, they’re hosting a Locals Fireside Wines and Nougat experience. Relax by the lake, toast nougat on the open fire, sip glorious wine and listen to “Take me back” on RMR for the perfect winter afternoon, host Ian Smith will be there himself!
