River Angels

River Angels have a brilliant team of helpers that support community members undergoing surgery or chemotherapy, but they are short of an hour or two cleaning on two sessions – next week in Cowaramup and at the end of November in Margaret River.

Tribute Tree

The next Tribute Tree workshop for children is going to be very exciting – it’s focussing on a very popular species, reptiles! The educational and craft-based workshop is on Saturday 23rd October 9:30 – 11:30 am in the Chapel Gallery, at the Margaret River Community Resource Centre. Phil Schenberg, from South West Reptile and Education, will talk about their behaviour and habits, and the exciting part will be learning to handle them yourself. Suitable for 7year olds and upwards and it’s free, although donations will be welcome.

Contact: Georgina Kelly – georginakelly@westnet.com.au Bookings essential. One adult per family, or drop children and go. Free, but donations welcome.

Arts Margaret River

Arts Margaret River is working on an incredible community collaboration called Distribution 15.

They’re planning a large-scale community created performance at various sites along the Gondwana link, a corridor of bush that stretches from Margaret River through to Kalgoorlie.

The performance will happen in 2023, but at the end of this month Arts Margaret River are holding community consultations, workshops and experiences.

The workshops include all the information and discussion of this huge arts project along with Dance Taster workshops.

You don’t have to be a dancer to be involved, there’s a gentler one for older people and a more active one for youth.

Anyone over 14 can take part in this amazing arts project and the workshops at the HEART, they’re free but you’ll need to register to attend.
